What is the 10th International Public Markets conference?

The 10th International Public Markets Conference is a 3 day event that focuses on new trends and innovations for the preservation and revitalization of public markets internationally.

The conference is organized by Project for Public Spaces, and will next take place in London, UK in June 2019 with the Mayor of London as our co-host.

What can I expect to see in the program?

The event will run from Thursday, June 6 -  Saturday, June 8, 2019. We expect the program to consist of one full day of breakout sessions and plenaries, bookended by an opening plenary and reception, mobile workshops, and market tours around London. Information about the conference themes and topics, as well as content relevant to the event, will be shared throughout 2018, but the actual program will not be available until 2019. For planning purposes, if you require a more detailed example of what our program might entail, please refer to the program from the 9th International Public Markets Conference in Barcelona from 2015 for a general idea of session topics covered at this event.

When will registration open for the conference?

Registration for the conference will open in Q1 of 2019, and at that time will be accessible here. Cost of registration will only be announced at that time, however if pricing is needed for your annual budgeting, the early rate for our 2015 conference in Barcelona was $550 USD and the late rate was $675 USD-- we do not expect pricing to stray far from this range.

Who attends the International Public Markets Conference?

The conference will bring together public market leaders, advocates, and representatives from throughout the world, including a broad mix of government leaders, market managers, downtown planners, grassroots organizers, local food advocates, transportation experts, health care professionals, and educators.
